What’s in a Name?

As a request from so many people wanting to know what’s behind the name ‘Zez Photos’ this is a new page to the site, explaining what this name means to us.  

The name ‘Zez Photos’ comes from the combination of Polish and English language, ‘zez’ meaning ‘squint’ and ‘photos’ well meaning ‘photographs’.

The idea behind this name is to give the impression of looking at photography in a different way, to challenge what we see as a ‘nice’ photo, by taking a range of photos and  trying to present ideas and thought behind the image.

There is some thought and idea behind it all, but ultimately, here at Zez Photos, we’d like to share our collection of work and have some fun with photography.
